In Singapore, dyslexia is relatively common. Overseas research has indicated that the level of dyslexia in the general population could be up to 6%. Most children are identified to have dyslexia after the child has had a few years of primary school. During this time, the child may have consistently failed to achieve the reading, writing and spelling skills expected from them.

Dyslexia children can come from any socio-economic group, from any geographical area in Singapore, and from families with a range of attitudes about education, schooling, and learning.

B.A., M.A (HONS) NZ
Consultant Psychologist
Mrs Joe is a Singapore-Registered Psychologist who graduated from New Zealand. She is also an approved Registered Supervisor with the Singapore Psychological Society.
​
She has over 20 years of extensive experience in IQ testing, teaching young adults, and in particular helping children with learning disabilities, emotional difficulties or special needs.
​
Her diverse background includes having worked with special needs children (including dyslexic children), managing educational centre as well as being a full-time lecturer in psychology.
